The Slide and Pool Attendant is responsible for the oversight of the Aquatics slide and maintaining established policies and procedures.  Ensures the safety of guests when they are in and around the slide and other areas of the pool deck.  Promotes a positive environment for both guests and employees.    WORK SCHEDULE: Part-time up to 19 hours per week; varied days/and hours Sunday 1p-5p, Tuesday 3:30p-5:30p, Monday/Wed/Thurs/Friday 4p-8p, Saturday 12p-6p.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Maintains a professional and positive rapport with members and guests. - Enforces the height requirements on the slides to ensure safety. - Enforces the center’s policies, rules and regulations. - Completes cleaning tasks to include cleaning the pool, slide and locker rooms as assigned by Head Guard on duty. - Maintains pools within the State Health Department guidelines. - May assist in maintaining order and discipline. - Respond to all emergency situations. - Completes injury and incident reports. - The work schedule may include morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours. - Attend all mandatory meetings as scheduled by the Aquatics Manager. - All other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None   Education and/or Experience: No experience necessary, will train on the job.   Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.  - Good communication skills including interpersonal skills. - English proficiency required; Spanish language skills helpful. - Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. - Ability to collaborate and work within a team. - Attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. - Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters - Strong independent judgement. - General computer knowledge is required to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system. Other Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years old to monitor at the top of an elevated slide.  Must pass all applicable background checks.   Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Prefer American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.  Requires Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional (CPR for Pro) certificate within 30 days of hire. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 30 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.   Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The Kroc Center is an ENERGIZING, FUN, FAST-PACED recreation and education center providing opportunities for people to connect, experience personal growth, and develop relationships.  The Kroc is a world-class facility and a Nebraska treasure supporting the community and its members with fulfilling and family friendly programs and activities.    Our team members thrive on serving others and making a difference in our community.  A positive attitude, fun-loving spirit and a desire to be part of something bigger is a must.  If you have a servant’s heart and a drive for excellence to help us achieve our mission, then we want you to be part of our team!     The Aquatics Supervisor provides support to the Aquatics Manager for the administrative, programmatic, and supervisory components of Aquatics programs.   WORK SCHEDULE:  This position is exempt and averages between 40 to 45 hours per week.  The schedule includes mornings, evenings, weekends and some holidays.  The incumbent must be flexible and able to work a varied schedule during the following days/times:  Sunday 9a-5:30p, Monday thru Friday 5:30a-8p, and Saturday 7a-6pm.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Support the Aquatics Manager in scheduling, implementing and supervising Aquatics programs, including leadership of the department’s swim lesson and/or swim team programming as assigned. - Leads the Aquatics Department when management is absent, exercising independent judgment as needed to oversee department programming and activities. - Work with staff and senior management to ensure a safe aquatics environment for all. - Support the Aquatics Manager in the coordination of staff scheduling, timekeeping and record keeping. - Participate in and assist with the coordination of ongoing training and certification for staff, instructors, and volunteers as necessary for the successful execution of aquatics programming. - Help coordinate regular staff meetings and monthly in-service trainings for all Aquatics team members. Support the Aquatics Manager in oversight and supervision of Aquatics staff as needed to assure compliance with established departmental policies and standards and applicable state regulations. - Help monitor and maintain all facilities, supplies, and equipment related to Aquatic programs. Communicate as needed with management and Facilities Department. Keep accurate records of repairs and preventative maintenance. Complete chemical records and make chemical adjustments when necessary. - Respond to emergency situations and complete accident and incident reports, communicating to Manager on Duty (MOD) and Aquatics management as directed. - Maintain clear communication with staff, volunteers, and program participants. - Maintain and submit daily and monthly statistical reports sign-in sheets, pre/post-tests, reports, and evaluations. - Attend all required department and facility meetings and training as assigned. - Participate as assigned in Kroc Center-wide events. - Schedule will include days, nights, weekends and holidays. - Other similar and related duties may be assigned.   Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise Aquatics staff and volunteers in the absence of the Aquatics Manager.   Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Post-secondary educational degree preferred. At least two (2) years of related experience in aquatics programming, such as lifeguarding, teaching aquatics classes, and/or leading aquatics programs.   Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.   - Experience working with youth and adults in aquatics settings. - Good communication skills including interpersonal skills.  - English proficiency required; Spanish language skills helpful. - Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. - Exceptional flexibility and ability to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously. - Ability to collaborate and work within a team. - Attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. - Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters - Strong independent judgement. - General computer knowledge is required to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.   Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks.
