Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.   Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center Purpose Statement      Inspire people to discover their God given talents and develop their potential through artistic, educational, physical, and spiritual experiences in a Christ-centered atmosphere.   Job Summary/Primary Purpose: This position will directly assist in all maintenance, event set-up / tear down activities, housekeeping, security, and other operations at the Kroc Center as directed by Facility Services Management.   WORK SCHEDULE:  Full-time / 40 hours per week; schedule varies to include evenings and weekends.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Driving is an essential function of this position. - Maintain the external property of the facility (including walkways, drives, docks, and parking lots along with the maintenance of trees, shrubs, and grass areas) Utilize various grounds equipment (rakes/shovels, mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, snow blowers, etc.). - Repair, maintain, and implement scheduled activities required to sustain the physical plant of all Kroc Corps locations / facilities as directed by Facility Services Management, including working on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and all other mechanical systems. - Utilize Archibus Facility management system to keep accurate records of repair, replacement, and maintenance of all Kroc facilities as directed. - Assist in housekeeping duties (year-round, occasional, and event/post-event needs) of all areas to ensure a clean, healthy environment for employees and guests; ability to utilize various cleaning equipment (mop/bucket, carpet vacuums and extractors, floor machines, power washers and scrubbers, etc.). - Assist, as necessary, in providing security for the building and grounds, upholding policies and maintaining a positive interaction with staff, members and guests. - As directed by Facility Management, assist in the set-up, tear-down, and change-over for events including, tables, chairs, staging, barricades, pipe and drape, signage, and all other related equipment. - Assist in the development and enforcement of lockout/tag out procedures. Report all potential mechanical or electrical problems and any unsafe conditions to the Facility Services Director. - May be required to open and/or close the facility and implement related procedures such as unlocking/locking up, issuing or securing facility equipment, opening/closing down computer programs. - Assist in monitoring the activities of outside contracted services as directed. - Operate and assist in the maintenance of all rolling stock equipment (forklifts, utility carts, high lifts, etc.). - Attend all scheduled staff meetings and trainings as directed by Facility Services management. - Drive multiple facility related vehicles for maintenance and travel between remote sites. - All other duties as assigned. The Kroc Center follows social distancing guidelines for all in-person interviews.  Go to this link to review other precautionary measures in place at the Kroc Center:  http://www.omahakroc.org/covid-19.html   The Kroc Center is an ENERGIZING, FUN, FAST-PACED recreation and education center providing opportunities for people to connect, experience personal growth, and develop relationships.  The Kroc is a world-class facility and a Nebraska treasure supporting the community and its members with fulfilling and family friendly programs and activities.    Our team members thrive on serving others and making a difference in our community.  A positive attitude, fun-loving spirit and a desire to be part of something bigger is a must.  If you have a servant’s heart and a drive for excellence to help us achieve our mission, then we want you to be part of our team!     Job Summary/Primary Purpose: The Health & Recreation Specialist is responsible for leading multiple activities as directed, assists in executing approved programming in the sports, recreation, and fitness areas.   Work Schedule:  Part-time up to 19 hours per week (2 positions); Part-time 20-29 hours per week (1 position)   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Considerately and patiently enforce Kroc Center rules to provide a safe environment for all. - Perform all fitness orientations, lead programs, and oversee group activities pertaining to both fitness and sports & recreation areas as needed. - Assure any emergency response follows TSA policy and clear and concise documentation is completed. - Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fitness, sports/gym programs and facilities as directed by management. - Promote a culture in which excellent customer hospitality thrives, all guests feel welcome, and events and programming are well attended. - Provide support and guidance as needed to Health & Recreation staff as directed by management. - Assist in the cleaning, maintenance, and inventory management of the assigned program area. - Ensure all safety standards are met and maintain certifications performing all in service requirements and attending all department meetings. - Assist with tracking statistical information and proactively providing summary information and reports to management as required. - Actively participate in community events and outreach in order to effectively promote utilization of the Kroc Center as assigned by the Kroc Officers. - All other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None   Education and/or Experience:  - High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred. - Prefer at least 6 months of experience in teaching activities related to fitness, sports and/or recreation. - Experience working with adults, youth and children. - Working knowledge of general safety guidelines of fitness, sports and/or recreation Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.   - Good communication skills including interpersonal skills.  - English proficiency required; Spanish language skills helpful. - Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. - Exceptional flexibility and ability to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously. - Ability to collaborate and work within a team. - Attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. - Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters - Strong independent judgement. - General computer knowledge is required to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system. Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks.   Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  - Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR/AED/First Aid) certification is required within the first 90 days of employment and must be maintained on a bi-yearly basis. - Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training as established by The Salvation Army. - A minimum of one certification from a nationally recognized organization in the sports, recreation, or fitness field is preferred. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.    Provides frequent outdoor supervision of programs during spring and summer months. Must have the ability to lead activities that require physical activity. Other physical requirements include good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity. Ability to stand, bend and reach for extended periods of time, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment. This position will require the ability to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds occasionally.   Working Conditions: The majority of the workday will be in a mixed environment including offices, service counters, and other program spaces.
