  • Overview

    Under the supervision of the Children and Youth Activities Manager, the Kids Watch Lead is responsible for the safety, care and wellbeing of the children in the Kroc Center Kids Watch Area and the Zone.  The Kids Watch Lead will provide direction and oversight to Kids Watch/Zone Attendants.  The Lead will assist with Program Development, and adherence to structured learning and play in the Kids Watch/Zone area.  This person will assist with community collaborations and procure donations for the outreach programs in the Youth Activities Center. 

    Responsibilities

    1. Responsible for the safety, supervision and active entertainment of all children placed in the Kids Watch/Zone area while parents/guardians are participating in Kroc Center activities.
    2. Assist with the administrative duties in the Children and Youth Activities Department.
    3. In the absence of the Children and Youth Activities Manager, supervise staff in Kids Watch and Zone.
    4. Interact professionally with all contacts, as required, with the general public, parents/guardians, business community, Salvation Army Officers and Kroc Center staff.
    5. Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.

    Qualifications

    1. Prefer 2 years college education in elementary education, or Child Development or Child Care Certification or Minimum of two years’ experience in working in child care. Combination of education and directly related work experience will be considered.
    1. Computer knowledge helpful but not necessary.
    2. Be able to read, write and communicate in English with the preferred ability to also communicate in Spanish.
    3. Have or be able to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid certification within the first 30 days of employment.
    4. Be at least 18 years old.
    5. Be able to life and carry 40 lbs.
