  • Overview

    The Senior Programming Department Assistant will complete assignments related to the administrative support, development, implementation and management of senior program related activities at the Grand Rapids Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center.

    Our Senior Program aims to serve individuals ages 55 and above with unique programming geared to promote health and wellness.

    Candidates must be available to work on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between the hours of 8AM-2PM. Additional work hours will vary based on time and year and the volume of older adult program offerings.

     

    Responsibilities

    Facilitation of the following ongoing program offerings- daily drop in social hours, weekly book club, monthly lunch and learn, movie, and birthday party events, and quarterly field trips.

     

    Development of new programs- In collaboration with existing Kroc center fitness staff implement new health and fitness classes targeted for older adults. This will include teaching fitness and nutrition classes.

     

    General Administration- Coordinating check-in at programs and keeping accurate counts of participation, assist with booking program space throughout the building, schedule field trips and maintain the master activity calendar

    Qualifications

    Have a working knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel as well as Lotus Notes

    One-year experience working with senior adults preferred

    Ability to conduct fitness and nutritional classes preferred.

    Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Ability to read, write and communicate in Spanish desired.  

    Must be able to obtain CDL
