Job Summary/Primary Purpose: To teach safe and effective multi-level fitness and/or aerobic exercise classes to the members and guests of the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, the public, employees of The Salvation Army and Kroc Center, business and industry.
Work Schedule: Part-time, varied hours, up to 19 hours per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Some related experience teaching general fitness classes and/or personal training for individuals or small groups is preferred.
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: National Accredited Certification such as but not limited to Aerobics and Fitness Association (AFAA), American Council on Exercise (ACE) or hold a specific certification in the class being taught; for example, Zumba®, AFAA Personal Trainer, or TurboKick®. Requires CPR training and bi-yearly renewal. Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional (CPR for Pro) is required within the first 30 days of employment and must be maintained on a bi-yearly basis. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training as established by The Salvation Army.

This position requires the ability to see, talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle or feel. It also requires the ability to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Must be in good physical/mental health and capable of meeting the demand of programming. This position requires the incumbent to spend a large percentage of the workday standing, walking, climbing stairs, etc.
Working Conditions: The position is exposed to indoor and outdoor environments throughout the year. The noise level is moderate from operating fitness equipment and loud in class settings.
