  • Overview

    Serves as the first point of contact for callers and visitors to The Salvation Army of La Crosse.  Also performs administrative duties for the Director of Operations and Corps Officers.

    • Answer, screen and direct inbound phone calls.
    • Receive and direct visitors and clients.
    • General clerical duties including photocopying, faxing, and mailing.
    • Handle requests for information and data.
    • Take care of incoming and outgoing mail.
    • Coordinate and maintain contact information for staff and other corps groups.
    • Provide office assistance to all departments as needed.
    • Pre-screen Social Service Clients and schedule appointments as necessary.
    • Assist in scheduling of conference rooms/vehicle reservations.
    • Performs other duties that prove necessary for the operation of the main office/organization.
    • When necessary, train and assist volunteers



     The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. 

    Education:  High school diploma or equivalent.


    Certifications: Must have valid driver’s license and be approved by TSA’s insurance carrier. 


    Experience: Two years general office and phone skills with working knowledge of Windows programs.  Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment.

    Travel:  Within La Crosse County- No overnight travel


    Working Conditions:   The duties of this job will be primarily performed indoors in normal room temperatures.  The noise level will generally be low to moderate.
