    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist Store Manager in all aspects of shift management, including customer relations, inventory control, procedural tasks and paperwork, as well as visual merchandising.
    • Supervise all employees in performance of duties to ensure compliance with directives and guidelines.
    • Open & close store as directed & maintain both individual and shift sales.
    • Assist with the training for new personnel.
    • Bank cash receipts at end of business day, send deposit slips to the accounting office each day.  Safeguard cash at all times in absence of manager.
    • Attend and/or conduct monthly store staff meetings & support Manager in keeping personnel informed of new policies and directives.
    • Attend monthly "Manager" meetings in the absence of Store Manager.
    • Provide daily shift floor coverage as needed, as well as possible extended Management coverage.
    • Assist with the unloading of trucks.
    • Report safety hazards.  Responsible for the protection of personnel, property, and building, in manager's absence.
    • Report to Manager any detrimental behavior by clerks.
    • Be prepared for reassignment to other stores at the direction of Supervisor.
    • Support the mission statement of The Salvation Army.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

     

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must be 18 years or older, a High School graduate or GED.
    • Retail &  6 months management experience preferred.
    • Must be a self-starter and be able to perform all assigned tasks quickly with attention to detail.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents.
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees.
    • Must be able to deal with problems in a wide variety of situations.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
    • Ability to operate a cash register/POS system.
    • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Must have a valid drivers license clear MVR.
