    Provide support to the activities and programs for adults and youth of the Milwaukee Citadel corps and surrounding community.

    • Build relationships with potential and existing program participants to help connect them to the Corps.
    • Provide leadership to youth programming and assistance with adult programming on Wednesdays
    • Coordinate with youth program volunteers to establish schedules, ensure proper materials and supplies are available, etc.
    • Provide and/or arrange for training of youth program volunteers
    • Organize and lead annual VBS (with support of corps officer and volunteers)
    • Promote Army Lake Camp programs to community and corps youth and organize registration for Camps, taking into account the needs of the child; ensure transportation is provided to Camp for participants
    • Coordinate and/or provide transportation for youth and adult programming at the corps
    • Organize programming for youth and adults in the community; establish connections and partnerships with agencies, schools, and volunteers to support youth programming
    • Co-Coordinate Kettle Program with corps officer, and assist with other seasonal activities



    The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. 


    • Must be a Christian and be or become a Soldier or Adherent



                        High School Diploma or equivalent



                              One year experience working with people in ministry support preferred.



                     Valid driver’s license with clearance to drive from TSA insurance



    • Exceptional customer service skills.
    • Good organizational skills, including good time management.
    • Able to work independently.
    • De-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
    • Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, program participants, and community members.
    • Flexibility to adapt to necessary changes in programming needs
    • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products, email, and Internet
    • Ability to handle difficult situations with compassion, clarity and empathy
    • Ability to work as part of a ministry team (volunteers and paid staff)
    • Ability to motivate and encourage others

    The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the duties of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job.  


    Physical requirements include: good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity.  Lifting, pulling and pushing of materials up to 40 pounds. Requires bending, squatting and walking. May stand for extended periods.


    Travel: Some local travel required, including to Army Lake Camp. Overnight stay at Camp may be required.


    Working Conditions:  This job is at times, performed indoors at normal room temperature. The noise level is normally low.

    While performing the duties of this job during most community center and youth activities and at special events, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level in the work environment at these events may be low, moderate or loud.
