    The Salvation Army Western Michigan Northern Indiana Divisional Headquarters has a full-time Youth Ministries Coordinator position open.  Divisional Headquarters located in the charming Fulton Heights neighborhood, steps from Fulton Street Farmers Market

    and a short walk from East Town.

    Develop and support ministry opportunities for Division wide Character Building and Young Adult programming.




    • Strong personal commitment to the full mission of The Salvation Army with a passion for youth ministry, both outreach and development, as an essential part of the church.
    • An interpersonal style that engages people from diverse backgrounds and builds understanding and trust.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects, priorities and programs in a constantly changing environment.
    • Ability to anticipate and respond to issues in a positive and timely manner.
    • A communication and management style that is responsive as well as fosters team relationships and effectively communicates information.
    • An understanding of the cutting edge issues involved in effective Youth Ministry, especially in cross-cultural and urban environments.              
    • A growing knowledge of the Army’s history, mission, and structure, as well as its services, policies and programs.
    • Effective written and oral communication skills, especially in public presentations.



    • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Youth Ministries, Christian Education, Childhood Development, or a related field.  Equivalent ministry experience can be substituted.  
    • Experience developing programming and ministry resources, strategies and materials.
    • 3 to 5 years experience working with and designing Christian education or recreational programs for young people between 6 and 18 years of age.
