    Summary/Primary Purpose:  Oversee all aspects of the Thrift Store retail environment to include staff, merchandise, donations and store operations.


    The hours for this position are:  M T W F 8:30a-5:30p, TH 1:30p-5:30p and Sat 8:30a-12:30p


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Responsible for scheduling and assigning employees to meet operational requirements.
    1. Responsible for ensuring sales and budget goals are met and the retail operation is profitable.
    2. Ensures that all employees follow proper processes on donations and merchandise from receipt of items to final sale.
    3. Responsible for management and approvals of time cards for thrift store personnel.
    4. Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
    5. Enforces compliance with Federal, State and The Salvation Army polices, guidelines and rules.
    6. Responsible for proper handling of cash register, sales reports, processing of accounting and banking documents for the retail facility.
    7. Responsible for HR processes to include recruiting, hiring and training of retail personnel with direction from the Corps Officer.
    8. Resolution of customer and employee related issues that may arise, in a prompt and courteous manner.
    9. Responsible for bank deposits as necessary.
    10. Driving is an essential function of the position.
    11. All other duties as assigned.


    Supervisor Duties:  This position will supervise thrift store employees and volunteers.


    Qualifications:  The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.


    1. Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
    2. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as the ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
    3. Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
    4. Mathematical skills to include add, subtract, multiply, divide, use of common fractions and decimals.
    5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    6. Strong independent judgement.


    Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
