    The assistant day camp director is responsible for the overall day to day operation and organization of the day camp.

    Responsibilities

    Design a curriculum for up to 75 campers ages 5-14 with various stations, centers, etc including a daily schedule of activities.

     

    Supervision of Counselors.

     

    Supervision of Meal/Snack Service with the Day Camp Staff.

     

    Prepare a weekly informative communication (email, Facebook, and/or newsletter).

     

    Plan and organize all Field Trips/Swimming Trips. 

     

    Work with our administrative secretary for:

    Counselor Time Cards and paychecks

    Camp Fees

    Petty cash

    Any money issues for trips, etc.

    Statistical reports.

     

    Keep accurate files and records for each camper/family.

     

    Manage finances for the entire day camp program to stay within prepared budget.

     

    Handle discipline appropriately and fairly.

     

    Oversee Daily Cleaning of Day Camp Facilities (No janitor on staff).

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    Day Camp director must be at least 21 years of age.

    College Educated; Teacher Education Preferred.

    Experience in administration, summer day camp programs, classroom management, etc.

    Must have a valid Driver’s license and pass as a Qualified driver through the Salvation Army insurance company.

    Able to drive a 12 passenger van, must have a chauffer’s license.

    Able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

    Be First Aid/CPR certified  (provide certificates).
