The Janitor will keep the Corps Building clean and organized.
Areas of Responsibility:
Basic Janitorial Duties
Basic Donated Goods Duties
Clean all bathrooms daily and as needed
Remove trash on a daily basis
Vacuum Large areas on a weekly basis or more as needed
Vacuum and clean classrooms on a weekly basis
Vacuum waiting room and offices on a daily basis
Clean front entry way
Shovel front walk as needed and apply de-ice products
Sweep and mop kitchen floor on a weekly basis
Sweep and mop the activity room after use
Mop bathrooms twice a week
Mow grounds as needed
Vacuum Chapel weekly or as needed
Dust furniture throughout the building weekly
Vacuum pews monthly or more as needed
Clean vans once a month
Clean kitchen once a week
Sweep and Mop pantry once a week
Other duties as assigned
Donated Goods Duties:
Greet all donors in a kind and courteous manner
Keep donation area in a clean and orderly manner
Help donors bring in donations
Pick up larger food orders/donations on occasion in Corps vehicle
Other Duties as Assigned
High School Diploma or GED reauired.
Experience: Some experience in janitorial work a plus.
Skills: Must possess friendly, pleasant attitude. Must be able to work within the Mission Statement of The Salvation Army. Must be able to work with various cleaning supplies.
General Conditions: Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand on your feet for as long as four hours. Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to pass Salvation Army Driver’s Insurance Requirements. Compliance with criminal background investigation protocol.
