    Responsibilities

    Provide oversight of Personnel Health Services which includes working with our vendor and the Health Services Council to ensure that personnel benefits are properly applied.  Serve as a general professional health resource and act as an advocate for personnel.  



    Essential functions:

    • Maintain a deep understanding of the personnel health care plan, and be able to answer questions and coordinate with our vendor on advanced questions.
    • Provide regular review and recommendations regarding changes to the Personnel Health Care plan based on an analysis of usage.
    • Ensure that billings for managed care are processed and paid.
    • Process and monitor the wellness program.
    • Assist by reviewing medical reports and fielding questions regarding required examinations.
    • Assist personnel with general questions regarding health care, encouraging them to get the care needed or required.
    • Maintain knowledge of current changes and advances in the health care field.
    • Training to territorial personnel as necessary regarding changes/updates to the OHCP.
    • Availability by phone after regular office hours in case of officer emergency needs.
    • Responsible for all Personnel Life Insurance records.
    • Tracking of all Personnel Health Leave data, calculation of reimbursement information, and processing of reimbursements with the various unit commands.
    • Liaison with local Hospitals for interim medical management.

    Qualifications

    Education      

     

    Bachelors degree in nursing or related field required.

    RN license preferred.

     

     

    Experience

     

    Minimum 3 years of health and/or medical case management experience required.

    Familiarity with insurance ICD-9 coding preferred.

    Supervisory experience preferred.

     

     

    Travel less than 25% within the central Midwest.
