The Essential Services Intake Receptionist is the initial contact for clients when calling or visiting our Kent County Essential Services program. Responds to clients presenting for energy and or food assistance in person or by phone. Determines and screens for the primary need and urgency for needs. Provides referrals, schedules appointments and provides internal support to the program.
Attend to all clients/guests as they arrive to determine their primary need and discern the urgency of presenting needs. Identify resources, provide referrals and provide scheduling assistance.
Service Coordination/Record Keeping
By being familiar with energy and food related programs assist with coordinating services. Maintain accurate case records and statistical data of client participation and referrals in accordance to procedural protocols. Misc. reporting as requested.
Maintain confidentiality of all participant information and ensure appropriate release of such information. Actively promote a racism-free environment. Understand and adhere to professional ethics and boundaries.
A minimum of 2 years post-secondary education in social/human services preferred.
At least 1 year experience in social work or social service field desired. Call center or front desk experience desired.
Strong customer service skills. Bilingual preferred; at a minimum, the ability to understand and to make one’s self understood to all Spanish speaking individuals.
Self-motivated and team oriented. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel, website navigation and various email systems.
