  • Overview

    The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is accepting applications for a Director of Rehabilitation Services for an all male facility.

    Responsibilities

    Duties would include:

     

    The supervision and development of the Rehabilitation program.  This includes supervision and coordination of staff, volunteers and student interns from local universities as well as direct counseling.  Maintaining Beneficiary occupancy at approved levels at all times is a high priority and must be done on a daily basis.  This means there needs to be networking in the community to guarantee the success of a full house. 

     

    Other duties include chairing rehabilitation staff meetings and case conferences and participating in administrative staff and residential staff meetings, counseling beneficiaries individually or in groups on scheduled basis and to do crisis intervention, training new staff in areas such as agency policy, department procedures and agency regulations, preparation and maintenance of reports and records required by ARC policy and administration, the supervision of such recording and reporting by staff and periodic audits of records and reports as required in order to fulfill all duties, supervision of Residence Manager and all residence staff, ensuring consistent adherence to all agency rules and policies and all house rules and supporting the mission of The Salvation Army, amongst other duties.

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:

     

    Master's degree in Social Work (M.S.W.) or related field from an accredited university.  Five years administrative experience, two of which must be in treatment of addictions.

     

    Language Skills:

     

    Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or board of directors.

     

    Reasoning Ability:

     

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

     

    Clerical/Mathematics Skills:

     

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rate, ratio and percent.  Ability to prepare budget figures.  Computer skills in word processing and data management.
