    Responsibilities

    Open and close the shelter daily

    • Open shelter by 9 pm each night
    • Register clients
    • Set out cots and distribute bedding
    • Wake clients up at 5 am
    • Serve the morning meal
    • Before leaving the shelter at 6 am, be sure the sleeping area and the kitchen and bathroom areas are clean and sanitized

    Provide oversight of clients:

    • Serve the evening meal. Assure clients observe all the rules and regulations which they must sign before staying for the night.
    • Assign duties to clients including: wipe down mats, keep personal area clean, assist with kitchen clean up, clean and sanitize shower and bathroom facilities.
    • Distribute hygiene products
    • Label bags with client bedding if it is not a laundry day.
    • Report all incidents or problems to Corps Officer.

    Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Willingness and ability to assist and provide oversight to clients of the shelter in pursuit and support of The Salvation Army Mission.

    Dependability and excellent attendance.

    Unquestioned confidentiality and good decision-making skills.
