The Summer Camp Lead Counselor works directly with children and organizes, prepares, and leads general activities such as arts and crafts, sports, educational, and other age-appropriate activities at the Kroc in Green Bay. Under direct supervision, per state requirements, is responsible for the safety and well-being of a small group of children aged 5 – 12 by ensuring appropriate behavior and that the group is in the proper location at all times.


  1. Assist the Youth Development Supervisor in the preparation and execution of summer day camp activities.
  2. Organize, prepare, and lead age-appropriate activities for children ages 5 – 12, such as arts and crafts, sports, educational activities and games.


  1. Assist supervisor in communication to parents, administration of state forms, and other administrative duties. This does not include communication regarding financial or disciplinary situations.
  2. Ensure campers meet behavioral expectations and positively intervene when necessary.
  3. Coordinate camp activities when coordinators are unable to perform their duties due to emergencies or absence.
  4. Utilize CCMS (Community Center Management System) for timely and accurate record keeping, including the areas of statistical reports related to all camp activities.
  5. Ensure the attractive appearance, operational function, and general upkeep of the camp venues including equipment and furnishings.
  6. Submit material and equipment requirements to the Youth Development Supervisor as necessary.



  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 6 college credits in education / early childhood development is highly preferred.
  • 1 year of experience working with youth in a camp setting required.

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: First Aid, CPR and AED Certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of hire.

Working conditions will vary based on the activity being conducted. Some activities will take place indoors in a climate-controlled area while others will take place outdoors with varying temperature and humidity levels.
