The Gift & Estate Planning Representative reports to the Director of Gift & Estate Planning and works to identify and cultivate current donors and prospects by personal visits, phone, email, mail, tours and social networking. Must be able to keep accurate, confidential records and data base. Assist in design and implementation of marketing ideas and tolls to help grow the donor base from current as well as prospective donors. Build and maintain a professional relationship with estate planning professionals, Corps Officers, Salvation Army Staff, Advisory Board Members, volunteers and other professionals in the fund raising field.


• Manage, maintain and help grow the stock gift program
• Outright gift acknowledgements
• Present planned giving programs and presentations to Corps, Advisory Boards and other professionals
• Coordinate will, bequest, trust, annuity, retirement, real estate and other planned giving vehicles
• Arrange tours of TSA facilities for donors, prospects and estate planning professionals
• Proof, edit and obtain data to mail out quarterly newsletters to donors and estate planning professionals
• Proof, edit and sometimes create other planned giving marketing materials, website, eBlast and social networking sites
• Identify PG prospects and work with donor overlay information
• Follow up on prospect’s requests for PG information or products
• Develop and give leadership to the Estate & Charitable Gift Planning Institute Webcast in assigned area of the Division
• Participate in Development Department fund raising and special events
• Work with and help maintain good relationship with volunteers
• Keep current knowledge of laws and regulations that pertain to PG gifts
• Attend functions that help to network with other fund raising professionals
• Complete month end reports for Director in a proper and timely manner


Education: 4 year college degree

Experience: 3 – 5 years’ experience in fund raising


Detailed, organized, creative self-starter
Strong interpersonal, presentation and planning skills
Ethical in fund raising standards
Gifted in dealing with people and the ability to listen
Cooperative with guidelines and policies of the organization

Self-motivated and can work well unsupervised
Works well with a team
Willing to learn and attempt new tasks as requested
Work occasional evenings and weekends
Willing to travel and reliable transportation a must
