Ensure that all aspects of the camper experience are conducted in a compliant fashion for The Salvation Army “Safe From Harm” program.
Order food and snack supplies. Be on hand for deliveries or assist in purchases as needed. Receive supplies and stock shelves. Clear orders through immediate supervisor.
Maintain sanitary standards inside and outside of snack shop. Clean all counters and equipment. Mop floor and empty trash.
Operate camp bank, issue snack shop bands during camp registration, handle deposits and withdrawals for campers, make any refunds of accounts at the end of each camp.
Keep an up-to-date inventory of clothing and working inventory of food items for the purpose of ordering.
Be on hand for special programming that would require snack shop to be open at times other than regularly scheduled.
Post prices of items available at snack shop.
Counting of money: secure second person to assist (immediate supervisor). Money must be counted by two people and witnessed on deposit worksheet.
Close snack shop one-half hour before meals.
Open snack shop during free time and after evening program.
Calculate deposits on the first and last day of each camping session and given to Director's Assistant for deposit, holding a sufficient amount of money back for refunds at the end of each camp. Maintain a $50.00 bank between camps for change in the lock box.
Securely lock the Snack Shop when closed. Check all doors and windows.
Supervise snack shop assistants.
Other duties as assigned by the director or supervisors.
Assist in the kitchen food service during prolonged periods of continuous encampment when minor staff are rotated in duties.
Conduct meal counts daily in the dining room. (USDA Clerk)
Other duties as assigned by camp administration.
Ability to work alone and be self-motivated. Ability to maintain financial records, inventory and prepare restocking orders. Previous experience with spreadsheet software preferred.
