Responsibilities

Help prepare meals, salads, desserts and other prep work as assigned by cooks and/or Food service manager.

 

Ensure that all aspects of the camper experience are conducted in a compliant fashion for The Salvation Army “Safe From Harm” program.

 

Fill in for cooks, if needed.

 

Do inventory and help with receiving, checking and properly storing food orders daily.

 

Wash, dry and fold laundry daily.

 

Help with the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and food supplies. This will include:  All storage areas; Cook's tables; Can opener.  Help with taking out of trash, and cleaning outside kitchen door by parking lot. Also includes the cleaning of back room where bread is stored.

 

Help with putting away food after meals.  See that food is stored properly, with labels and date on containers.

 

Help with the lifting of all heavy food from ovens and storage areas.

 

Help with line supply and serving of meals.

 

Rinse off those dishes used in cooking.  Put away clean pots and pans when dry.

 

Make sure servers are using proper portioning utensils as listed on production sheets.

 

Help the cooks fill out amounts used on production records.

 

Qualifications

Minimum 18 years of age. Previous Food Service experience preferred.
