Supervises and provides leadership to all clinical staff and oversees all clinical services.


  • Give recommendations on firing and firing of all clinical personnel.
  • Supervision and scheduling of clinical personnel as directed by the Site Administrator.
  • Maintain accurate documentation regarding supervised staff.
  • Verify and approve hours worked for employees and submit information to the payroll person in a timely manner.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate all program activities.
  • Monitor all treatment program admissions and discharges.
  • Distribute/collect treatment satisfaction surveys at beginning of treatment, mid-treatment and at discharge.
  • Provide clinical direction and leadership to all personnel.
  • Assure timely, accurate and adequate recording keeping and monitor/evaluate records.
  • Liaison between Clinical, Medical, Monitoring, and Food Service Departments.
  • Coordinate services with community and health care agencies to provide a continuum of care.
  • Respond to all program emergencies as necessary following all Harbor Light approved policies and procedures.
  • Represent The Harbor Light in community functions and committees as directed by the Site Administrator.
  • Provide for the day-to-day operations of the site in the absence of the Site Administrator.
  • Conduct staff meetings and clinical case conferences/case reviews
  • Serve as a leader of the Quality Improvement Committee
  • Serve as a leader of the Indicators and Record Review Committee
  • Participate in recipient rights grievances
  • Understand and work within The Salvation Army and Harbor Light Mission Statements.
  • Possess an excellent working knowledge of The Harbor Light Policies and Procedures
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • HIPAA - Level 1 access to Clinical Records


  • Master’s degree in the Behavioral Science field with a clinical application (i.e.; Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology).
  • Must possess two years of Clinical Supervisor experience.
  • Appropriate MCBAP Clinical Supervisor Credentialing (CCA-R).
  • Must possess MCBAP Addiction Counselor Certification (CAAC, IC&RC).
  • Appropriate State License (LMSW, LLMSW, LLPC, LPC, ACSW)
  • Minimum two (2) years experience working in the field of substance abuse
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, and  Email
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records systems preferred
  • Valid Michigan Chauffeur License and approved by The Salvation Army MVR
  • TB Test and police clearance required
