    Responsibilities

    Qualifications:

    Energetic and outgoing individuals that love to work with seniors and youth. Prefer individuals that have past experience working with youth or carries 30 hours of course work in child development. The Program Aide must have a willingness to attend and participate with the Salvation Army Grandale Church as needed. All employees must uphold and respect The Salvation Army’s mission and pass the Salvation Army background checks and MVR qualifications. Must be able to stand for long hours and lift up to 50 pounds

    Working Hours: Fall Schedule: 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm (Monday to Fridays, Some weekends as needed)

     

    Work hours: 9:00 am to 3:30 pm (Monday to Thursday)

    Pay Rate:     $10.00 hourly

     

     

    Duties:

     Assist in the overall operation of the weekly Senior Program. This may include:
    ● Enjoys working with seniors
    ● Lead and/or coordinate recreational activities for seniors

     Assist in the overall operation of the daily After School Program. This may include:
    ● Enjoys working with school aged children
    ● Tutor students in core academic subjects, school work or After-school program lessons
    ● Lead and/or coordinate recreational activities
    ● Assist in other after school activities such as computer lab, art and crafts, etc.

     

    Qualifications

     Assist with the overall activities operation of the Summer Day Camp and ensure staff responsibilities. This may include: 

    ● Planning in house activities, field trips, and devotions
    ● Keeping track of children involved in program
    ● Establish relationship with program parents
    ● Maintain computer data base
    ● Collect funds and keep track of weekly payments
    ● Assist in other summer camp activities such as computer lab, art and crafts, etc.
    ● Make necessary phone calls concerning confirmations and booking field trips
    ● Transport children to field trips as necessary/ other camps
    ● Oversee and supervise all facets of Summer Day Camp program
    ● Other Duties as assigned

     Assist with the overall activities operation of the Toy Shop and ensure staff responsibilities. This may include:
    • Christmas Application
    • Inventory of the Toys
    • Setup and Breakdown of the Toy Shop
    • Picking up Toy/Food Donations
    • Moving Boxes

     Assist with the overall activities operation of the Christmas Kettles and ensure staff responsibilities. This may include:
    • Bell Ringers Campaign and Driving Routes
    • Kettles, Stands, Signage and Bells, and maintained in good working order
    • Taking the Kettles/Signs to the Sites
    • Volunteers and Guest

     Assist with the Pantry Program. This may include:

    • Packing food bags
    • Organizing and cleaning the pantry
    • Taking food orders
    • Unloading food boxes from truck
    • Filling out reports
    • Data in put
