Overview

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT THE SALVATION ARMY'S ADULT REHABILITATION CENTER FOR WOMEN IN ROMULUS, MI.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Enforce house rules and overall security of the ARC. Know, perform and enforce Housing Monitor responsibilities.
  2. Adhere to, enforce, and implement program policies and procedures.
  3. Schedule and supervise Program Housing Staff. Educate and coach staff on changes, new tasks and new job responsibilities. Provide positive corrective action when necessary, up to and including disciplinary action.
  4. Train Program Housing Staff for job duties including, but not limited to: daily reports, work therapy assignments, medication policies and procedures, urine drug screens, alcohol tests, dorm searches, inventory searches, emergency drills, fire drills, tornado drills, etc.
  5. Observe and reports any unusual behaviors of potential areas of conflict between residents and report it to supervisors.
  6. Complete accurate data entry to include, but not limited to: staff logs, reports and sign in/sign outs.
  7. Complete daily written reports which include admissions, discharges, and unusual or otherwise incidents.
  8. Complete and communicate work therapy assignments report to be sent to Store Managers, Director of Operations, Director of Rehabilitation Services, and Manager of Rehabilitation Services.
  9. Complete data entry into Service Point to include, but not limited to: inventory, intake, discharges, class enrollment, drug screens, and beneficiary incidents.
  10. Conduct crisis intervention as needed and refer to Manager of Rehabilitation Services.
  11. Supervise scheduled activities including, but not limited to: intakes, urine drug screens, alcohol tests, dorm searches, emergency drills, fire, tornado, etc. in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  12. Maintain an active presence on the floor (common and dorm areas) by making sure frequent circulations of the facility occur. Check for unsafe conditions and facility and dorm cleanliness. Document and correct conditions/take steps to correct conditions as required.
  13. Maintain chain of custody for facility keys. Account for all keys and track keys at all times. Follow emergency key procedures.
  14. Communicate emergency situations in timely manner to Manager of Rehabilitation Services, Director of Rehabilitation Services and co-workers.
  15. Notifies Manager of Rehabilitation Services & Director of Rehabilitation Services when law enforcement officers and/or fire department, EMS personnel are called to facility.
  16. Document unusual activity, vandalism, maintenance issues, injuries and medical concerns as needed. Notify appropriate supervisor as necessary.
  17. Ensures outside individuals, visitors, guests, public law enforcement and safety personnel sign appropriate documents (e.g. sign-in sheets). Asks for identification when necessary.
  18. Conducts searches (e.g. lockers, etc.) in accordance with company policy and procedure.
  19. Maintains beneficiary property log. Immediately inventories, packs and secures property of AWOL, terminated, hospitalized beneficiary with another employee present at all times.
  20. See that staff is compliant with company medication policy and procedures. Accurately maintain related records (e.g. logging, inventory, counts, and audits). Immediately report any discrepancies to supervisor.
  21. Transport beneficiaries in Agency vehicle as needed and/or directed. Records mileage, gas usage and other pertinent information when transporting beneficiaries in Agency vehicles. Monitor Agency vehicles: use and maintenance needs and report any problems to supervisor.
  22. Participate in In-Service Training and local seminars/workshops.
  23. Work successfully and in unity with all departments of the ARC.
  24. Support the mission statement of The Salvation Army.

QUALIFICATIONS:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

 

Education and/or Experience

High school Degree or equivalent. MCBAP certification and/or experience in rehabilitation facility preferred . Experience with Windows Office and other Personal Computer applications preferred. Skills in data management are helpful.

 

 

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common professional journals and reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from beneficiaries, agencies, or the community. Ability to effectively present information to administration, beneficiaries, and/or public groups.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations. Ability to interpret a variety of materials furnished in written, oral or schedule form.

 

Clerical/Mathematics Skills

Abilities to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CPRM or CADC is preferred.

 

FAITH BACKGROUND

Must possess a willingness to address spiritual needs, such as repentance, forgiveness and salvation.

 

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE

Must be willing to work late nights and/or weekends and support the program and its requirements.
