Overview

This position provides support to the Christmas Red Kettle Campaign under the general supervision of the Business Administrator. Daily work is directed by the daily needs of the Christmas Campaign as determined by the Volunteer and Special Events Coordinator in coordination with the Seasonal Bell Office Staff.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver kettle stands and counter kettles to assigned locations as well as pick up at the end of the season.
  • Assists with daily bell-ringing activities in coordination with the Bell Office seasonal staff such as delivery and pickup and delivery tasks to support seasonal events such as Toys for Tots, Thanksgiving and Christmas donations as directed by Corps Officers.

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

 

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

 

Certification: Valid Wisconsin Driver's license, with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army's insurance carrier.

 

Skills:

  • Ability to drive a variety of vehicles including vans and box truck.
  • Ability to work well with ever-changing priorities and/or situations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
  • Must demonstrate ability to exercise sound judgment and to appropriately represent The Salvation Army.

Travel: As needed during course of work day, may include travel outside the city of Janesville to outlying areas.

The duties of this job will be primarily performed indoors and in a moving vehicle under normal room temperatures, however while performing these duties, the employee will experience exposure to outdoor weather and road conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level will generally be low.
