The therapist is responsible for direct consumer care. This also includes, but is not limited to: group and individual therapy, educative didactics, record keeping, quality improvement activities, interagency relations, and being member of the clinical team.
Act as a welcoming agent to persons’ served in detoxification, residential, and/or intensive outpatient services.
Present co-occurring didactics to consumers and possibly their family members.
Maintain compliance with all record keeping requirements as outlined in Operating Policy.
Maintain documentation of external contact.
Participate in quality improvement activities.
Maintain interagency Relations.
Be a member of a Clinical Team.
Education: Clinically related Master’s Degree from an accredited graduate school and a valid state license to practice within profession.
Experience: Previous experience in the substance abuse and mental health fields preferred. Must be a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) or be in the process of obtaining with an official plan. A candidate must possess the CAADC development plan within 30 days of hire and must acquire the certification through MCBAP prior to the plan’s expiration date.
Skills: Must compose self and their practice under the Code of Ethics of their profession. Must be computer literate and able to perform functions in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint without supervision. Ability to work independently and effectively alone and with a variety of staff and line personnel. Ability to complete all required trainings. Ability to independently read small print and handwriting. Ability to cognitively reason and problem solve to ensure consumer health and safely. Must possess well developed communication skills. Must be able to relate and communicate with a variety of professional personnel and consumers. It is preferred that a recovering individual demonstrate a minimum of five years sobriety with current evidence of social and emotional stability.
