SUMMARY: Provide peer support services to current program participants in Post Crisis Response and Emergency Community Support Services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other similar and related duties may be assigned.
5.Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
6.Complete 12 hours of on-going job related training annually.
7.Continue to utilize and refine trauma informed skills through training and practice.
8.Driving is an essential function of this position.
MARGINAL DUTIES include those functions that must be done but could be assigned to another staff member without significantly changing either employee's job. Participate in performance and quality improvement program and participate in trauma learning community activities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). You must have lived experience with behavioral health services and/or recovery. Peer support certification and WRAP facilitator certification preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of internet and word processing software such as Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. Basic computer knowledge needed to access time clock and personal information via a web-based system.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current Peer Support Specialist certification and WRAP certification or attain same within six (6) months of start date.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a current or past consumer of behavioral health services (BFOQ). Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver’s license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
