Overview

Process donated clothing by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Learn all functions of the processing line briefly described here:
    • Dumper-always keep the processing table full of credential.
    • Sorter-quickly inspect clothing to the quality standards of The Salvation Army.
    • Hanger-hang 6-7 pieces of clothing per minute.
    • Tagger-affix plastic attachments to all quality clothing.
    • Pricer-understand the Price Guide and apply proper grading to clothing.
  • Process all clothing efficiently and properly following the standards of The Salvation Army.
  • Maintain quality and grading standards.
  • Must work at an appropriate pace to efficiently meet production goals.
  • Must meet expected production goals daily, and weekly.
  • Use back guard provided when doing any substantial lifting or moving.
  • Support the mission statement of The Salvation Army.

OTHER DUTIES

All tasks or assignments as assigned by a supervisor or administrator.

Responsible for adhering to all procedures and guidelines as outlined in the Store Manager-in-Training manual.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

None.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to understand verbal instruction given in English. Must be able to read and comprehend English. Ability to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CLERICAL/MATHEMATICS SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment for this position is typically a warehouse setting with moderate temperature control but can be exposed to outside weather. The noise level is moderate.
