Job Summary:

As a bellringer/angel tree driver, you are a very important seasonal fund raiser for The Salvation Army. You personally have a part in feeding thousands of homeless people, providing toys to children, or restoring heat in the home of a neighbor whose social security check doesn’t stretch far enough. Specifically, money you raise during the holiday season will be used to offer seasonal care such as Christmas food and toy baskets, or a gift for residents of elderly care facilities.  Donations will also help us provide other services year round, such as emergency shelter, food for families and singles, and other material and financial assistance.  We share this with you so you will be able to answer questions if shoppers ask how donations will be used.

Responsibilities

  1. Receive daily bell ringer schedule from Kettle Coordinator or assistant with Angel Tree
  2. Make sure to be briefed on any new procedure or problem before departing for route.
  3. Keep Special Projects Coordinator and FRC Director informed of any problem on route.
  4. Confidentiality – Do not discuss any problems with any employees or disciplinary measures taken with anyone other than the Coordinator.
  5. Turn in all receipts to coordinator or assistant.
  6. Make sure no one smokes, eats or drinks in the vans.
  7. Make sure your van is cleaned at the end of your shift and filled with gas.
  8. Check on bell ringers during the day.
  9. Make sure the buckets with money are kept safe and secure at all times.
  10. Drop returning bell ringers off at gym door only – no exceptions.
  11. Pick up all Angel Tree gifts nightly from the University Park Mall and return to the Kroc Center
  12. Appropriately groomed (beard or mustache is clean and neatly trimmed) hair neat and clean, and attire is appropriate per bell ringer handbook.
