In keeping with the mission of The Salvation Army, The Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Green Bay provides facilities, programs and services that strengthen, encourage, and enrich children, adults, and seniors through positive life-changing experiences.

 

SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE:

 

The Cheerleading Coach will safely lead participants through fun and engaging activities to develop character and confidence in Cheerleading. Participants will learn Cheerleading skills, putting them into action, while learning to work with others in the class and challenging themselves safely outside their comfort zone.

Responsibilities

  1. Proactively ensure a safe recreation environment for all Kroc Center staff, volunteers, members and participants.

 

  1. Assist in the planning, directing, and guidance of the Cheerleading Program at the Kroc Center.

 

 

  1. Teach / lead various activities in the Cheerleading Program.

 

  1. Assist in the development of systems that safeguard all facilities, supplies and equipment related to the program.

 

  1. Utilize the office support system that will allow for timely and accurate record keeping, including the areas of statistical reports related to all athletic programs, accounting of expenditures and other reporting as required.

 

  1. Ensure the attractive appearance, operational function, and general upkeep of the recreational facilities including equipment and furnishings.

 

  1. In conjunction with the facilities department, establish an on-going preventative maintenance program for the recreational facilities and equipment.

 

  1. Assist in the development of programs and promotional strategies to increase Cheerleading Program attendance and revenue.
  2. Participate in designated staff training and professional development courses, as well as staff meetings, as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT: Uses a variety of office equipment including a computer, telephone, fax machine, copiers, printers and projection machines. Operate motor vehicles in the execution of some essential functions.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience in teaching cheerleading and coaching preferred.

- OR -

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: First Aid, CPR and AED Certification for Adult, Child, and Infant. A valid Wisconsin Driver’s license with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army’s insurance carrier is preferred.

  • Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products, e-mail, and Internet.

This job is performed in a community center environment, typically in a gymnasium or fitness studio setting. These are climate controlled areas but temperatures may vary depending on crowd size. The noise level can be moderate to loud in this setting.

For other duties of this job, such as outdoor special events and community center activities, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level in the work environment at these events is usually moderate to loud.
