RAY & JOAN KROC CORPS COMMUNITY CENTER PURPOSE STATEMENT 

Inspire people to discover their God given talents and develop their potential through artistic, educational, physical, and spiritual experiences in a Christ-centered atmosphere.

 

SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE

Executes the day-to-day operations and workflow of the Welcome Desk which includes guest and member check-in, onboarding new members, and delivering exceptional customer service.

 

Work Schedule:  2 part-time positions, varied hours, up to 19 hours per week (1 position will include opening shifts).  The Kroc Center is open Monday - Thursday 5am - 9pm, Friday 5am - 8pm, Sat. 6am - 6pm, and Sun. 1pm - 6pm.

Responsibilities

  1. Must be thoroughly knowledgeable on Kroc Center membership and membership sales, programs, and services, and be able to communicate that knowledge using excellent customer service skills.
  2. Ensure all requests and duties are met and tasks completed in a professional, timely, and confidential manner.
  3. Direct incoming phone calls to the appropriate department. Report problems/issues to appropriate departmental supervisors as necessary.
  4. Provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers.
  5. Assist security and management with emergency situations. Complete appropriate incident report forms as directed.
  6. Assist in providing direction to members and guests in moving about the facility to avoid crowded conditions and maximize service efficiency.
  7. Follow and ensure adherence to Kroc Center Policies and Procedures.
  8. Handle communication matters with customers in person, over the phone, and electronically.
  9. Interact professionally with the public, business community, Salvation Army Officers, and Kroc Center staff.
  10. Ensure revenues are handled according to policies and procedures. Collect user fees, sell day passes, gift cards, issue guest passes. Operate computer and software system as it relates to membership and programs.
  11. Cross-train in policies and procedures regarding Scholarships, providing this support when needed.
  12. Ensure the Welcome Desk is clean, orderly, and stocked with appropriate brochures and forms.
  13. Conduct occasional tours with the public as directed, keeping knowledge of center policies in mind.
  14. Work schedule varies and may include evenings, weekends, and holiday hours.
  15. All other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  Must have at least two (2) years of related experience in Customer Service.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: English proficiency sufficient for communication with supervisors, co-workers, clients and customers.  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.   Bilingual Spanish/English skills are preferred.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:  Beginner experience with CCMS.  Basic computer knowledge needed to access time clock and personal information via a web-based system.
