Overview

Picks up donations as scheduled for The Salvation Army. Unloads the donations at store, sorts and prices donations, runs the baler, and assists in maintaining organization and inventory of donations and supplies.

Responsibilities

    • Operates truck to pick up donations from local community as directed by store manager.
    • Provides superior customer service in all duties, including greeting donors, assisting with loading / unloading of donations, issuing receipts, submitting receipt copies and all cash donations to the store manager.
    • Operates pallet jack and baler when needed.
    • Picks up donations from Salvation Army facility located at 237 N Macy, takes trash to dump, scrap to be recycled and other errands as assigned.
    • Assists with organization of donations on the floor and in storage.
    • Trains and leads volunteers as directed by store manager.
  • Maintain vehicles by scheduling regular oil changes and routine maintenance, keeps accurate log of miles driven, and all necessary DOT paperwork required by DHQ; report repairs and/or replacement needs to supervisor.

 

  • Assists with outdoor and indoor (backroom) maintenance as needed. This may include sweeping, mopping, removing trash and sorting and tagging clothing/brick.

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

 

  • Must be at least 18 years old to drive and operate baler.
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical.

 

 

Education:      N/A

 

Experience:    One year job-related experience required.

 

Certifications: Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with approval to drive from TSA’s insurance carrier.

 

Skills/Abilities:

   

·         Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

·         Have knowledge of equipment safety rules.

·         Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

·         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
