Overview

Located in Downtown Fort Wayne, The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking qualified candidates to fill a Cook position.

 

This is a residential facility focused on providing spiritual regeneration to men struggling with substance abuse. 

All sales generated by The Salvation Family Stores fund The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center.

Responsibilities

Essential Duites are as follows:

  • Prepare breakfast and commence noon meal following menu schedule.
  • Responsible for ensuring food is prepared and ready at scheduled time.
  • Supervise kitchen helpers, assigning duties as required, during absence of Kitchen Supervisor.
  • Serves meals from serving line.
  • Maintain a high degree of order in the kitchen.
  • Ensure that all personnel on shift understand the need for personal hygiene, are clean shaven, and wearing clean, appropriate clothing.
  • Support the mission of The Salvation Army.

Qualifications

Requirements are as follows:

  • Valid IN Driver's license preferred.
  • Minimum six (6) months experience in institutional cooking preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred.
  • Flexible with the ability to work weekends.
  • Regularly required to stand; use hands, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to walk & reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires climbing two flights of stairs regularly.
