Provide support to the Emergency Shelter Director by providing supervision and intake of clients, maintaining security, and providing supportive services in a Christian atmosphere. Various shifts available include:

  • Monday - Thursday: 7 pm-12 am
  • Monday - Thursday: 12 am - 7 am
  • Friday - Sunday: 7 pm - 12 am
  • Friday - Sunday: 12 am - 7 am

  • Conduct intake interview of incoming resident into shelter.
  • Assign a proper bed and distribute needed bedding and personal items.
  • Provide necessary supervision of shelter and clients, assuring that rules and policies are being followed. Maintain an awareness of client needs.
  • Answer telephone calls, taking messages when appropriate.
  • Do cleaning as necessary.
  • Administers Breathalyzer tests.
  • Oversees breakfast and dinner preparations in dining room.
  • Review log book and update entries as needed.
  • Supervise gym sleeper set-up, and frequent sleeping area inspections.
  • Distribute medications as needed.
  • Be responsible for the over-all cleanliness of the shelter areas.
  • Responsible for shelter laundry.
  • Other duties as appropriate and assigned.




  • High School Degree or Equivalent


  • Past experience working with the homeless population desirable.


  • Ability to work positively with a diverse population necessary.
  • Needs to be able to function within a fast-paced environment and deal effectively with crisis solutions.
  • Should be a self-starter and also to work as a team member.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises of volunteers and community service workers, when assigned.

  • Must be able to lift at least fifty (50) pounds.


Some travel will take place within the greater Fond Du Lac area. Occasionally travel could be further.


Working Conditions:

Conditions will also include standing, sitting, bending, stooping, lifting, and moving through a multiple level building. Condition will be both indoors and out but primarily indoors.
