In keeping with the mission of The Salvation Army, The Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center provides facilities, programs and services that strengthen, encourage, and enrich children, adults, and seniors through positive life-changing experiences.

 

SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Slide Attendant’s primary job responsibility is to ensure a clean, safe and fun environment for all members and guests utilizing the slide in the Aquatics Center.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  This job description should not be interpreted as all inclusive.  It is intended to identify the essential functions and requirements of this position.  The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this job description.

 

  • Considerately and patiently enforce RJKCCC rules to provide a safe environment for all members, visitors and employees.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all general and department safety rules
  • Provide constant safety and supervision for all patrons utilizing the slide while on deck.
  • Measure children to ensure they are the proper height.
  • Describe the proper slide technique to guests.
  • Notify lifeguard in catch pool of any known weak swimmers.
  • Dispatch sliders when catch pool is clear of previous sliders.
  • Maintain and promote excellent customer service with all participants.
  • Assist in daily cleaning, order and care of the pool, slide area, deck and surrounding area.
  • Recognize, report and respond to any unsafe conditions and possible pool hazards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  None required

 

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:   CPR and First Aid Certifications required within first 60 days of hire.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner.
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances. 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.

This job is performed in a warm and humid environment.  The employee is exposed to wet and dry conditions and chemicals used to maintain a healthy pool environment.  The noise level in this work environment is moderately loud when in the pool area.

 

For other duties of this job, such as outdoor special events and community center activities, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level in the work environment at these events is usually moderate to loud.
