KROC CENTER OF GREATER GREEN BAY MISSION

In keeping with the mission of The Salvation Army, The Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center provides facilities, programs and services that encourage, enrich, and strengthen children, adults, and seniors through positive life-changing experiences.

 

SUMMARY/PRIMARY DUTIES:  This position will directly assist in all housekeeping, event set-up activities, and other operations at the Kroc Center as directed by supervisors.

Responsibilities

  1. At the direction of the supervisor, implement the scheduled activities required to provide a clean and safe environment for staff and users of the facility.

 

  1. Directly responsible for all housekeeping activities of all areas to ensure a clean, healthy environment for employees and guests; ability to utilize various cleaning chemicals and equipment (incl. mop/bucket, carpet vacuums and extractors, floor machines, power washers and scrubbers, etc.)

 

  1. Knowledge and use of all proper personal equipment, including wearing of protective gloves, safety glasses, and lifting belts.

 

  1. Assist in the set-up, tear-down, and change-over for events including, tables, chairs, staging, barricades, pipe and drape, signage, and all other related equipment.

 

  1. Assist in the care, maintenance, and repair of assets related to hosting events

 

  1. Assist in the implementation of the Emergency Operations Plan

 

  1. Attend all scheduled staff meetings and management team meetings as directed by the Facility Engineer.

 

  1. Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.

 

  1. Be available to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays, as may be required.
  1. Interact professionally in all contact, as required, with the public, business community, and Salvation Army Officers and staff.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Other duties as assigned for this position.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT: Uses a variety of custodial equipment including mop, vacuum, broom, chemical cleaning agents and other items need to keep the center clean and orderly. Must be able to operate all mechanical cleaning machines used within the facility.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience preferred

- OR -

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Applicant must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver’s license with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army’s insurance carrier.

  • The employee will be required to be on their feet most of the work day, standing and/or walking, walking up and down stairs, bending and lifting items and equipment.

This job is performed at times in an office environment at normal room temperature.  The noise level in this work environment is usually low.

For other duties of this job, such as outdoor special events and community center activities, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level in the work environment at these events is usually moderate to loud.
