The Quincy Kroc Center is seeking candidates for a full-time Maintenance Worker position working 40 hours/week.

The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for the general maintenance and grounds at the Ray & Joan Kroc Corp Community Center in Quincy, IL.

This job description is not all inclusive.  It is intended to identify the essential duties of the position. Other duties, responsibilities and tasks may be assigned at the discretion of management.

  1. Monitor daily all interior areas of the building facility, external facilities, parking lots and landscaped areas; including all electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems in and around the center.
  2. Perform basic routine and emergency repairs to designated facility plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems as required.
  3. Assist in preventative maintenance of the Salvation Army facilities and equipment, including but not limited to: belt inspections and replacement, replace light bulbs, filter replacements, coil cleaning, painting of building and maintain general service ability.
  4. Assist in the setup of equipment for events and activities for the Kroc Center.
  5. Assist in periodic maintenance of the Salvation Army vehicle fleet.
  6. Maintain landscaping, parking lots, sidewalks, snow/ice removal, mowing grass, and other exterior maintenance and property upkeep needs as required.
  7. Maintain aquatic and recreational equipment as required.


Education & Certifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED with the ability to read and comprehend a job description, cleaning instructions and material safety data sheet.
  • Carpenter, electrician, plumber or HVAC journeyman status and 30 hours OSHA  training is preferred. 

Experience:  Requires a minimum of four (4) years related progressive full-time maintenance experience.  Maintaining recreational facilities experience is helpful.  A combination of related training and work experience will be considered.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Ability to repair and maintain plumbing, electrical or HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Able to accomodate change in priority and job duties to best serve the needs of the Salvation Army and redirect work activities as need arises
  • Able to work effecitvely in a team environment.
  • Valid Driver's License and must pass The Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check.
