The Quincy Kroc Center is seeking part-time lifeguard positions working up to 19 hours/week in our year-round indoor aquatics facility.  Flexible schedules make this position ideal for high school and college students. The Lifeguard staff will be responsible for knowing and enforcing all aquatic center policies and procedures, while providing a safe aquatic environment at the Ray & Joan Kroc Corp Community Center (RJKCCC) in Quincy, IL. This position will monitor all users in the aquatic areas, assist patrons, assist with cleaning the aquatic facilities, and operate and set up equipment as needed. 


Candidates hired into this position are eligible for an employer paid membership.


This job description is not all inclusive.  It is intended to identify the essential duties of the position. Other duties, responsibilities and tasks may be assigned at the discretion of management.

  1. Become familiar with and enforce all RJKCCC aquatic center policies and procedures consistently at all times.
  2. Monitor all aquatic center users, while educating users on proper use ensuring safe use of all aquatic features and equipment.
  3. Recognize and respond quickly and effectively in all emergency situations.
  4. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services, based upon level of certification.
  5. Inspect the aquatic facilities prior to each shift, and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the aquatic supervisor(s) on duty.



Education & Certifications:    

  • High school/equivalent diploma is helpful
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid certification
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical skills lifeguarding test
