After School staff plans, implements, and supervises daily activities for a group of children between the ages of 5-12. The Kroc after school program includes physical activities, enrichment activities, and homework help.
The following shifts are available during the school year September through June, Monday - Friday, and staff can work 2-5 shifts per week:
2:15-5:00 (includes riding our bus or driving a van)
2:30-5:30 (includes driving a van)
Pay for this position starts at $10/hour and we offer a pay differential for staff who are cleared to drive through The Salvation Army's insurance carrier (you must have a good driving record and be at least 21 years of age to qualify for this incentive). Applicants who hold a certificate from The Registry can also receive incentive pay. Our most highly qualified candidates with additional qualifications and experience may qualify for a position as a Lead in this program, with pay starting at $11.50/hr. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Experience working with diverse groups of people in age, ethnicity, and abilities.
Ability to lead youth and manage disciplinary issues effectively.
Ability to interact with the general public in a calm, rational manner.
Ability to organize and supervise youth in a safe environment.
Must be 18 years old for teacher role; must be 21 years old for driver shifts.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent is desired.
1+ years of experience of working with youth is strongly preferred.
