This position is a part-time position working approximately 10 to 19 hours a week with a variety of christian-based youth programs.


Under the supervision of the Youth Development & Outreach Specialist, this is a Ministry position responsible for connecting, leading and developing the youth in the various programs and activities including summer camps, after school programs, the game room, and special events at the Kroc Corps Community Center.  The Youth Development Assistant is to be the face of the Kroc Center to the youth of the community and to the parents of the youth.  The Youth Development Assistant will be a trustworthy conduit through which parents and youth can connect to the center.    



This job description is not all inclusive.  It is intended to identify the essential duties of the position. Other duties, responsibilities and tasks may be assigned at the discretion of management.


  1. Promote the Mission of The Salvation Army.
  2. Provide building blocks of healthy development for youth through the infusing of Search Institute’s 40 Developmental assets into programming and daily interaction.
  3. Work with the Youth Development & Outreach Coordinator to help develop leadership skills in students through interaction and training opportunities.
  4. Assist with spiritual formation in students by building relationships and connecting them to spiritual opportunities.
  5. Display integrity, enthusiasm and sound moral judgment. Promote positive family relationships.  Work to help both parents and youth view the Kroc Center as a safe area for youth and a place to turn in time of need.
  6. Assist with implementation and coordination of both daily and weekly activities



Education & Certifications:  High School Diploma or GED equivalency is a plus. 


Experience:  Have some experience working with students. 


Must be 18 years of age.
