    Responsibilities

    The Ministries Specialist is responsible for the promotion, resourcing, administration and limited development of denominational programming for women focused ministries.  This would include Bible Study materials and outreach ideas.  The Ministries Specialist will lead many Women’s Ministries initiatives including on-line initiatives along with being responsible for utilizing social media to increase the on-line presence for Central Women (Women’s Ministries).  This position is also actively and regularly involved in participation or a leadership position in a Salvation Army Women’s Ministries group:

     

    • Provide resources and leadership as requested for divisional and/or corps events.
    • Participate as a member of the women’s ministries department in shared territorial oversight for Salvation Army ministry to women.
    • Maintain and continually update Central Women (Women’s Ministries) website.
    • Keep both the website and Facebook page current with upcoming events, programming ideas and outreach initiatives Central Women – The Salvation Army USA; suggest social media expansion initiatives.
    • Serve as a consultant to divisional and corps leaders to provide training seminars for ministry to women.  This may require travel to divisional Women’s Camps, rally day, mini-institutes and conferences.
    • Represent the Army, as needed, in local, regional, territorial and national events and committees which are related to the specific ministry responsibilities of this position.
    • Work with others to plan Territorial Women’s Ministries events or encampments to ensure for quality programing.
    • Be available for public speaking at corps, divisional, territorial or national events as needed. This should include the possibility of teaching at CFOT (College For Officer Training) in a seminar or classroom setting to inform Cadets of the importance of planning for Women’s Ministries.
    • Locate outreach and program ideas to share on the website, social media and  through other on-line campaigns.
    • Plan two monthly podcast; produce, secure guests, host, and edit.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree require in Worship Studies, Christian Leadership and Management, Church Ministry, Evangelism, Theological Studies, Nest Gen Ministries, or other related ministry field.


    Experience: 

    • Leadership experience with Christian women’s groups and/or Christian Ministry for Women. Preferably Salvation Army Women’s Ministries programs.
    • Use of social media platforms that have successfully increased on-line presence and awareness of a program, group, ministry, etc.
    • Knowledge of Christian theology and Salvation Army mission, philosophy and doctrine.
